City Skyline
Students created pop-out city skylines after observing cityscapes done in different media. The class compared a photograph to an artist impression of the same city. Each student developed space in their piece by overlapping buildings and objects, changing the size of objects and placing near objects closer to the bottom of the page. Buildings were cut from construction paper and details were added with crayon, marker or colored pencil. Some buildings were made to "pop out" from the background with paper or cardboard scraps.
